BIBLE TALK 1 -THE BOOK OF REVELATIONS CHANGED MY OUTLOOK ON LIFE – Unconventional Styles Blog
Hello fashion lovers!
Today is a On Sundays We Blog post. I will share outfit details at the end.
I often get the term “church girl” thrown at me a lot. Not in an insulting way but, simply because that is who I am. Earlier this year I had made a vow to read a chapter of the bible every day. I had fell back on this vow. I felt that I was not truly a christian or “church girl if I did not get into the word.
When it comes to my church life I am very active but, I wanted to be even more active in my CHRIST like life. The word is the foundation of the christian lifestyle. It is our guide and road map. I thought to myself how can I be a christian and I have not read the guide on how to do so.
My pastor is covering the book of Revelations is our bible study class and it intrigued me. Last night ( October 15, 2018) I finished reading this book. Yep, all 22 chapters. I have always heard that this book was scary. Now there were some parts that were a little scary but, I considered those parts more eye opening than scary.
I feel that if you are between the ages of 18-30 then Revelations is where you should start. Revelations paints a beautiful picture of heaven. The more I read the description the more I fell in love with God. It tells of how John saw different wars and beasts. The amazing thing is that God defeats all evil in the end. Satan never prevails. That gave me strength and empowered me to keep wanting to live and do right.
There are so many young people who love God, but struggle to do right and follow him. I am included in that number. The opportunity to do wrong is ALWAYS presenting itself and temptation is so strong. However, after reading Revelations and seeing how God always wins. The weapon forms but, it never prospers!
I love how John can see all of these events and still have his right mind lol. I honestly would probably have lost mind. But, I think Revelations was written to empower instead of just warn. There are warnings to help us get and stay ready but, Revelations was more than that to me.
Revelations showed me just how UNSTOPPABLE and POWERFUL my GOD is. It gave me hope and strength. It let me know that in him we always win. We may get down to our last but in the end those who do good and are faithful to him will never lack.
Be empowered. Know that your well doing does not go unnoticed. This life is not ours. We are his vessels. I am ready to grow in him and to see just how amazing life is FULLY living for him.
