Welcome back fashion lovers,
As we already know the month of February is Black History Month. I like to take this chance every year to use the blog for educational purposes. Today I want to share some of my favorite quotes from African American fashion designers, stylist, writers, etc.
“I feel so happy when I am making clothes, that I could just jump up and down with joy.” – Anne Lowe
“The label is everything. The label is the thing the gangster clientele use to let the other gangsters in the street know, ‘You ain’t got what I got.’ The label or logo sets you apart.” – Dapper Dan
“I want my clothes to make you smile!” -Patrick Kelly
“I think people take fashion too seriously. “We are at a place where individual style counts, and I just want the whole world to get there because they are starting to look like quadruplets and twins. Everybody is starting to look the same.” – Ty Hunter
“Wearing clothes should be a personal narrative of emotion. I always respond to fashion in an emotional way.” – Andre Leon Talley
I hope these quote inspire you as much as they have me. Happy Black History Month!
