3 Important Lessons I Learned In “When I Left My Daddy’s House” By Apostle Shirley Johnson

*Outfit details will be at the end of this post*

Welcome back fashion lovers,

I had the pleasure of reading a book by a beautiful black queen. First of all, let me say that reading is very therapeutic for me but, reading a book and actually knowing the author has such a major impact on the reader.

The book is called “When I Left My Daddy’s House” by Apostle Shirley Johnson.

There are 3 important lessons I learned while reading this book that will help me in my spiritual and all around growth journey.

Lesson #1 – Choose True Love

Apostle Johnson tells of her 2 marriages. They were night and day from each other but, it was clear as day as to to which marriage was ordained by God. True love uplifts, strengthens, supports, and encourages . True love adds to your purpose, it doesn’t take away from it.

Lesson #2 – Always Keep The Faith

Johnson went through many trials. Trials that a lot could never mentally recover from. However, what brought me to tears while reading this book was that she never once had a “woe is me” moment. Every trial she went through she gave God her all. That is a great example of God’s love covering us through whatever we go through and how he gives us strength to endure it.

Lesson #3 – Praise Your Way Through It

Praise is how you tell God thank you. Whether it’s a shout, waving your hand, speaking in your heavenly language, or just yelling thank you Jesus. We all have a praise and we all must use it. Apostle Johnson became social media famous through her praise. After reading this book, you will definitely understand why she praises the way she does. Praise isn’t out of place and it isn’t weird. There is no certain way to praise or worship God. Praise and worship comes from the heart of the believer. Praise is our weapon and we should use it.
